"And the confidence that we have before Him is that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us. And if we know that He hears us, whatever we ask, we know that we have what we asked of Him" (1 John 5:14-15*).
During the service, nine-year-old Emmy raised her hand to share prayer requests. First, she asked us to support in prayer the people in the war-torn situation in Ukraine. Then, Emmy asked us to pray for her ability to produce sound while trying to play the flute. It appears she had just started taking flute lessons and was not managing well at the moment.
What a wonderful example! With her first prayer request, Emmy showed concern for others by seeking God's peace in a situation of conflict. Her second request was personal—a longing in the heart of a budding musician. For Emmy, it was very important, even though it might not have mattered much to others. The Lord delights in having us express all our petitions before Him.
God cares for the whole world and each one of us individually with the same love, mercy, and compassion.
Dear God, let us bring our worries before You with confidence, trusting that You care for each and every one of us. Amen!
