Hands and feet

Hands and feet
Hands and feet

“The King will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.’ (Matthew, chapter 25, verse 40*).

Today's Bible verse is extremely important to me. It helped me realize that Christ wants us to be His hands and feet.

I have discovered various ways to honor God through acts of service. A few years ago, I started visiting a 94-year-old woman in a local nursing home every Wednesday. I enjoyed listening to her stories about cooking on a wood stove and other memories from her youth. She went to be with Christ at the age of 96. Now, I help in the church’s soup kitchen. We provide food for those in need and also offer coffee in the church hall on Sunday mornings. Smiling at people, hugging them, or simply saying “Good morning!” brings me joy.

There are always needs around us that we can meet. You could volunteer at a hospital, drive someone to a doctor’s appointment, or send a card to someone in the church. Even opening a door for someone can be a way to serve Christ. We bless others with every act of service and we are blessed when we honor God with our hands and feet.
