Grace and new beginning

Grace and new beginning
Grace and new beginning

"Thus, we no longer evaluate anyone from a human perspective. And if we once viewed Christ in a human way, we no longer do so. Therefore, anyone who belongs to Christ is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come" (2 Cor., Ch. 5, v. 16-18*).

After a long winter comes the splendor of cherry blossoms, harbingers of the approaching spring and new life. Visitors travel great distances to savor the magnificent view in cities like Tokyo or Washington.

God's grace, like the cherry blossoms, offers a beautiful new beginning through faith in Christ (Ephesians, Ch. 2, v. 8). The gift of salvation is a gentle reminder that our past does not define our future (italics are ours). The Lord, in His infinite wisdom and love, invites us to let go of yesterday's burdens and embrace the promise of tomorrow.

In this season of renewal, God's grace prompts us to look forward to what is coming — though He never changes, He is always doing something new. The prophet Isaiah reminds us that just as cherry blossoms bring renewal, God is constantly working to bring new vitality and purpose to our lives. "But you do not remember the former things, nor consider the things of old. Behold, I do a new thing; now it springs forth — do you not perceive it? I will make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert" (Isaiah, Ch. 43, v. 18-19*).

Is your heart open to God's transformative work? He can bring renewal and hope to your life by creating paths in the deserted places where you have felt lost and forsaken. The Lord is a reliable guide. Follow Him.
