"Be strong and courageous, do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the LORD your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you" (Deut. 31:6).
- Where did all the time go? I asked aloud as I stared at my notebook.
As an expectant mother with only one month to the due date, my anxiety grew with each passing day. There were so many things I hadn't prepared yet.
We were financially constrained, which made me even more anxious about the new responsibilities and upcoming hospital expenses. On top of everything, I had never taken care of a baby before. A strong feeling of insecurity and helplessness crept in. The feeling of being unable to cope threatened to overwhelm me.
My husband heard my question and came over to hug me in an attempt to console me. He read a portion from my notebook written a few weeks ago: "Be strong and courageous, do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the LORD your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you" (Deut. 31:6).
I have known this verse for so long that at times I have approached it casually. Yet, in this moment of intense fear, it brought me comfort. It was as if my heavenly Father came to embrace me and remind me at just the right moment: "I am walking beside you." There was no need to live with fear and uncertainty any longer.
