Did you know that God created you to glorify Him? Many people dedicate their lives to glorifying money, popularity, achievements, or pleasures, but ultimately continue to feel emptiness and dissatisfaction.
King Solomon reflects on this human longing when he writes that the Lord “has set eternity in the human heart” (Ecclesiastes 3:11*). Hundreds of years later, Christ Himself confirms this truth by saying, “Whoever drinks the water I give them will never thirst. Indeed, the water I give them will become in them a spring of water welling up to eternal life” (John 4:14*). If you are wondering why He does this—it’s because the Lord desires to have a personal relationship with us.
Unfortunately, we often become entangled in sin instead of glorifying God. In the first chapter of the Epistle to the Romans, Apostle Paul examines the small gods we tend to turn to. He wants the Romans to know that sin and false gods distance us from our eternal calling to commune with the Father. For this reason, repentance plays a vital role in a believer's life.
Remember that our Heavenly Father has destined us to find fulfillment in Him. And because of His great love for the whole world, He does not wish for anyone to spend eternity without Him.
