“Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in Christ with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places” (Ephesians 1:3*).
Imagine an elderly couple living in a dilapidated farmhouse. They can barely afford the groceries and medicines they need. They don't even have enough money to keep warm during the winter. Shortly after both pass away, large oil reserves are discovered on their property. All those years of misery, they had been living atop hidden wealth.
The sad truth is, many Christians go through life like this elderly couple. They have reduced Christianity to its foundation: God has saved me, and one day I will go to heaven. Spiritually poor Christians fail to take advantage of the reserves of God's grace that are available at every moment. There is no reason to wait for heaven to enjoy the riches of grace that the Lord has already given us in abundance.
True riches are not measured by your bank account, but by God’s grace. You have received Christ’s righteousness, the forgiveness of your sins, adoption as God's children, the power of the Holy Spirit that dwells within you, and an eternal inheritance. As co-heirs with Christ, you have access to God's riches, which include unspeakable joy, unconditional love, and peace that is beyond comprehension. Don’t wait until heaven; draw from these divine blessings every day of your life, starting today.
