The Source of Peace

The Source of Peace
The Source of Peace

"Above all these things, put on love, which binds everything together in perfect unity. Let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to which you were indeed called as one body. And be thankful to God" (Colossians 3:14-15*).

The Lord Jesus is our peace. Did you know that God offers a tranquil heart to all who believe in Him? The Holy Spirit, who dwells in every follower of Christ, sustains the flow of peace, similar to sap that flows from the vine to its branches (John 15:1-5). It is sad that many Christians ignore this unchanging source of tranquility due to certain misunderstandings.

Some think that peace is a result of ideal conditions, but this world is far from perfection. This means we will never achieve exactly the life we desire on this earth, and life circumstances cannot grant us peace.

Others believe that they must beg for peace from God, who is somewhere far away in heaven. But the Lord and His followers share an inseparable connection. We have access to peace because Christ lives in us.

The Bible tells us about how our relationship with the Lord Jesus should be: "Therefore, as you have received Christ Jesus as Lord, so walk in Him, rooted and built up in Him and established in the faith, as you have been taught, abounding with thanksgiving for it" (Colossians 2:6-7*; the emphasis is ours).

Peace is the immediate result of our relationship with the Lord. No external situation can ruin this connection—we partake in the abundant life of Christ through His Holy Spirit.
